Moscow – Foreign Literature Library
On November 14th at 9 pm the Portuguese author, screenwriter and journalist Rui Cardoso Martins, who is also an expert in Russian Literature, will present his work to the demanding public of the Russian capital. Martins is a guest author in the magazine Granta Portugal for which he wrote Salada Russa/Russian Salad (2017) an account of a literary and real voyage to Russia hundred years after the October Revolution.
Saint Petersburg – Mayaskovsky Library
On November 15th at 6 pm, Martins will present his “acclaimed black comedy about the mysteries of suicide and the Portuguese colonial war” E Se Eu Gostasse Muito de Morrer/And if I Really Wanted to Die as a part of the international literary contest “Saint Petersburg reading 2018”.
The initiative which aims to promote works of contemporary foreigner authors in Russia has the support of Camões, IP and the Portuguese Embassy in Moscow.
